Nairobi, Kenya – The highly anticipated opening ceremony of the 11th Edition of China Trade Week (CTW) Kenya, held alongside the 6th Edition of Africa Technology Show, the 4th Edition of Africa Build Show, and the 3rd Edition of MEGAWATT Africa – The International Energy and Power Generation Exhibition for Africa, marked an exceptional start to one of East Africa’s largest multi-sector trade and investment platforms.
Organized by MIE Events FZCO and co-organized by CCPIT Jiangsu and Global Exhibitions Inc. (GEX), the four co-located exhibitions officially opened with an inspiring ceremony that brought together senior government officials, diplomatic representatives, industry leaders, business executives, exhibitors, investors, and trade professionals from across Africa, China, and beyond.
The exhibition venue came alive on opening day as thousands of visitors from diverse industries explored innovative products, advanced technologies, and new business opportunities, highlighting the exhibitions’ growing role in promoting international trade and partnerships.
The official opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Edwin Masivo, Country Director – Kenya, MIE Group, who thanked exhibitors, partners, and delegates while emphasizing the exhibitions’ role in strengthening Africa-China trade relations.
Zahoor Ahmed, Vice President – Strategy & Partnerships, MIE Group, highlighted the platform’s impact in driving innovation and collaboration across key sectors, while David Wang, Chairman of MIE Group, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to connecting global businesses with Africa’s growing markets.
Mr. Wang Shanhua, President of CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-council and Jiangsu Chamber of International Commerce, emphasized the importance of deeper China-Africa cooperation through trade, investment, technology exchange, and industrial development.
The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of distinguished government officials and industry leaders, including:
